How to Unzip a File
🗂️ How to Unzip a File – Quick Guide for Digital Downloads
When you purchase digital embroidery files, SVGs, or design bundles from Carrie Ellen Designs, they are delivered in a compressed .ZIP file format. This allows for faster downloading and organized delivery of multiple files. Before using your new designs, you’ll need to unzip (extract) the files to access your embroidery formats or printable artwork.
Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to help:
✅ For Windows Users:
-
Locate the ZIP file in your "Downloads" folder or the location you saved it.
-
Right-click on the ZIP file.
-
Select "Extract All..."
-
Choose the destination folder where you want the files to be saved.
-
Click "Extract" — your unzipped files will appear in the selected folder.
✅ For Mac Users:
-
Double-click the ZIP file.
-
Your Mac will automatically extract the contents into a folder with the same name.
-
Find your unzipped files in the same location as the original ZIP file.
✅ For iPhone/iPad (iOS 13+):
-
Tap the ZIP file in your Files app.
-
The file will automatically unzip, and a folder will be created in the same location.
-
Tap the folder to view your embroidery files or clipart.
✅ For Android Devices:
-
Download and install a free app like “Files by Google” or “ZArchiver.”
-
Open the app and locate the ZIP file.
-
Tap it and choose "Extract" or "Unzip" to view the files inside.
