What is embroidery digitizing?

Digitizing is the process of turning artwork (JPG, PNG, AI, SVG, PDF, etc.) into a machine-readable embroidery file. This file tells your embroidery machine how to stitch the design, including stitch type, direction, density, underlay, and more.

Do you use auto-digitizing?

No. All designs are manually hand-digitized for the highest quality results. Auto-digitizing often creates sloppy paths, uneven densities, excessive trims, and poor sew-outs — which I avoid entirely.

What file formats do you provide?

I can provide nearly any embroidery format, including:
PES, DST, EXP, JEF, VP3, XXX, HUS, VIP, SHV, and more.

Not sure which one you need?
I will help you choose — and I typically include DST since it’s widely compatible.

What types of artwork can I send?

I accept:

  • PNG
  • JPG/JPEG
  • PDF
  • AI / SVG
  • EPS
  • High-resolution images and scans

Higher-quality images produce more accurate digitizing.

How much does digitizing cost?

I offer flat-rate pricing, not stitch-count pricing.
Your quote is based on design size and complexity. This keeps pricing simple, fair, and predictable.

How long does digitizing take?

Most designs are completed within 24 hours.
Rush or same-day service may be available depending on the complexity and current workload.

Can you make multiple sizes of my design?

Yes!
Just let me know which sew-out sizes you need.
Most designs can be safely resized within ±10%, and I can adjust density and columns as needed.

Will my digitized design stitch well on my machine?

Every machine behaves slightly differently, but I digitize with clean paths, minimal trims, and balanced density for smooth stitching.
If anything doesn’t stitch as expected, I’ll make adjustments at no extra cost.

What if I need changes after seeing the stitch-out?

No problem!
If you have a photo of the stitch-out or details of the issue, I will revise the file until you are satisfied.

Do you offer applique, 3D puff, or specialty digitizing?

Yes! I can digitize:

  • Appliqué
  • 3D Puff (Foam)
  • Satin-only designs
  • Fill stitch designs
  • Redwork / line art
  • Vintage / running stitch styles
  • Simple or complex multi-layer designs

Your artwork and digitized files are never shared, sold, or used elsewhere without your permission.
